This qualification is part of the Outdoor Recreation Training Package. It facilitates the development of the following knowledge and skills: general administration; amenity horticulture; hospitality; retail; and sales and marketing.

Certificates III and IV recognise more complex vocational skills and knowledge that meet nationally endorsed industry/enterprise competency standards as agreed for those qualifications by the relevant industry, enterprise, community or professional group. They include training at the apprenticeship level, as well as more advanced skills in: literacy and numeracy; communication skills; workplace technology; and industry specific competencies. VET qualifications are offered by TAFE Institutes, private providers and some universities.
Vocational Education & Training (VET) courses are offered by TAFE institutions, private providers and some universities. They are accredited by the VET authority in each state or territory. Awards under the new Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) include Certificate I - IV; Diploma and Advanced Diploma (also offered in Higher Education); and Vocational Graduate Certificate and Vocational Graduate Diploma.
These courses are mainly Certificate III. They provide a range of skills at a similar level to trade courses, and initial entry to a job.
Animal health, audiology, child care, chiropractic, community services, counselling, dental studies, dietetics, epidemiology, family care, fitness, leisure, medicine, natural therapies, nutrition, nursing, occupational therapy, optometry, pharmacy, podiatry, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, social work, speech pathology, sport, veterinary studies, welfare studies.
Structure
9 core units, 1 set of specialisation units; 5 electives
The Industries Skills Council, Service Skills Australia, includes amongst others, the Sport & Recreation Sector. Training Packages cover: Community Recreation Industry; Fitness Industry; Outdoor Recreation Industry; and Sport Industry.
Entry to these courses do not require completion of any specific level of schooling. Other entry requirements such as relevant experience may apply.
Applicants must have relevant employment experience and/or be currently employed in a relevant field of work for entry to these courses.

Also called 'distance education', 'off-campus' or 'correspondence'. These courses offer full or part-time study by mail, video, television or other forms of communication. Attendance on-site for tutorials, exams or workshops may be required.
These courses are offered on-line via the Internet.
Training (usually apprenticeship or traineeship) involves release from employment to attend a VET course related to employment. Usually, day release students attend one day a week; those doing block release attend in blocks of a week or more at a time.
Attendance at these courses requires less than a full load of study. Class attendance on site may be day or evening or a combination, and allows students to combine work or other commitments with study. All types of on site part-time courses are included here.
