Mature Age refers to those applying for entry to a course after a period away from study. Age, work, background and skills may be considered as part of the entry requirements, rather than level of education completed. Note that for some courses, Mature Age is a Standard Entry method, particularly in the VET sector. 'Mature Age' may also be an Alternate Entry method for many of the Higher Education sector courses.
Applicants must have relevant employment experience and/or be currently employed in a relevant field of work for entry to these courses.
Year 12 is the last year of secondary school, and the last stage of the two year senior secondary certificate. The name of the Certificate varies according to the state or territory.
