Credit Transfer Policy

A candidate who has completed a course at an approved tertiary institution, or other establishment, may apply for advanced standing. A sub-degree tertiary qualification may equal 48 credit points shared between 100 and 200 level subjects according to level of qualification.

Tertiary Entry Policy

Undergraduate:
- Australian Year 12 UAI or equivalent
- Overseas equivalent Year 12
- Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) Level 4 (IV) Certificate, excluding Trade Certificate; this qualification may not provide entry to all undergraduate degrees
- Completed TAFE Associate Diploma, Diploma or Advanced Diploma
- Diploma from an accredited private institution, e.g. Wollongong College Australia
- Limited UAI must include prerequisites (5-9 HSC units)
- Minimum record of attendance equal to 1/6 of a bachelor degree from an approved university (excluding admission to Law degrees)

Alternative entry:
- Tertiary Preparation Certificate at TAFE (TPC)
- University Entrance Program or University Access Program from Wollongong College Australia (provides entry to most undergraduate degrees)
- Special Tertiary Admission Test (STAT) for people over 20 on 1st March in year preceding enrolment (excluding Engineering and Law degrees)

Postgraduate:
- For a Graduate Certificate, a Graduate Diploma or a Master degree - a Bachelor degree, or equivalent qualification, from an approved institution. For some degrees, an average mark of 60% is required.
- For a Master Research degree (72 credit point program) - a Bachelors degree in an appropriate discipline, or an equivalent qualification from an approved institution
- For a Doctoral degree by thesis - an Honours Bachelor degree, minimum Class II Division 2, or Honours Master degree with strong performance in thesis
In appropriate circumstances, an applicant who does not qualify for registration set out above may be permitted to enrol on the basis of tertiary academic and relevant professional experience.
