Description

The United Nations Information Service's Graduate Study Programme provides an opportunity for participants to deepen their understanding of the United Nations system through first-hand observation and study. The Graduate Study Programme is held at the United Nations Office at Geneva each year during the first 3 weeks of July.

Eligibility

Candidates must be graduates between 23-35 years of age. Selection is on the basis of the applicant's scholastic experience and motivation, with due regard to equitable geographical distribution. Applications must include the endorsement of the candidate's graduate institution or a governmental authority. The program will be conducted in English or French without interpretation: therefore, candidates must have a good knowledge of both languages.

Amount Information

The program will consist of an intensive 3-week series of lectures and panel discussions focusing on United Nations activities. Participants will also meet in working groups to formulate conclusions and proposals of their own. Participants are responsible for all travel and living expenses (which are estimated at about $1,200).
