Three different types of resume
There are three main formats for resumes:
- reverse chronological
- functional (skills based)
- combination.

Particularly if you’re using the Internet in your job search, you might be required to submit an electronic version or ‘soft copy’ of your resume. Big companies dealing with large volumes of applicants may ask you for a resume formatted so that it can be scanned directly into a searchable database.
