Why should you have a resume?
The purpose of a resume is to:
- promote you
- get you an interview
- summarise your work history, skills and experience
- show how you perform in different work situations
- show what you’ve accomplished in life and work.
Your resume should answer the employer’s major question,
‘How will I benefit from employing this person?’
Every job searcher needs a resume
If this is your first job search, you might think you don’t
need to organise a resume. But most employers and
employment agencies will ask you for one.
You don't need to have had paid employment to put together
a resume. You can write about any skills, abilities and
personal qualities you’ve developed from school activities,
hobbies and community involvement.
