Work Conditions
Set production workers may have to work at nights, or early mornings, to install and dismantle sets prior to and after production. They may have to work at heights, and should be able to observe health and safety standards when working on big sets. For productions such as plays or concerts, they may have to travel overseas or interstate routinely. For productions such as film sets, they may have to stay on the location of the set for extended periods of time. Their working conditions may be indoors or outdoors, and may involve working long hours, depending on the type of set that they are working on. Therefore, maintaining a degree of flexibility with regard to working conditions and locations may be an advantage in securing ongoing employment in this field.
