The Colin Thiele Literature Scholarship has been established by the State Government, and is offered to assist young South Australian writers to further their professional development and training.

Eligibility
Applicants must be 26 years of age or under at the closing date; Australian citizens or permanent residents; remain a resident in South Australia for the period for which the funding is provided (except where the grant is for overseas travel); able to demonstrate writing ability; and be undertaking an activity that will benefit young South Australian artists or improve youth arts opportunities in South Australia. It would be anticipated that recipients of the Scholarship would reduce their work or study to enable the recipient to use the scholarship to dedicate more time to writing.
